The Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight is a medium-lift tandem rotor transport helicopter. It is used by the United States Marine Corps to provide all-weather, day-or-night assault transport of combat troops, supplies and equipment. Nicknamed the “Phrog”, the Sea Knight has been used in all U.S. Marine combat and peacetime environments since its introduction in 1964. CH-46E Sea Knights were used by the U.S. Marine Corps during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
