Marines Integrated Assault – Send These Guys To Meet ISIS

U.S. Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conduct a live-fire integrated assault exercise at Bradshaw Field Training Area in Australia. The Marines used a variety of weapons systems including 120mm mortars, M777A2 howitzers, LAV-25 light armored vehicles, SMAW-II rockets, M240G medium machine guns and Browning .50 caliber machine guns. MV-22 Ospreys airlifted Marines in a vertical assault from the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6), more than 300 miles away.

The 31st MEU played a major role in Operation Phantom Fury (2004) – the clearing of Fallujah in Iraq. Hypothetically, if the 31st MEU where combined with U.S. air power, they would probably have little trouble defeating any force ISIS could mount against them on the battlefield.
